I would love to make a fan game of this once you're done. I am wondering though will the resources be made available? Even if only in Sprite form?

Unless the game is open-source, which from the looks of it it isn't, it's highly unlikely the developer will make the resources freely available. Whether he will complain if they are used from the core game itself is down to him I guess. Toby Fox doesn't seem to mind fan games based on his original sprites though. I'd like to see fan games though.

Yeah I guess it is a bit much to ask of any developer. They have to make a buck. Well if the game is popular I hope the sprites will be made available. Of course I don't want to make a game until I know exactly how the story develops. I have a feeling though the Subworld is bigger than the game itself. Several fictional realities must have collided that aren't even touched upon in the game itself. Would that be a fair assumption?

The term Subworld means the larger world in which the protagonist resides. So it's a fair assumption yes. I get the feeling that's what the Dev is going for.

So the mysterious "author" could have created anything. Oh crap, I just thought about all the bad shit he might have created in his/her stories and they're all in this world too. Scary thought.

Oh crap. No wonder Fictionals hate Human Writers.

Of course back to your original question, have you known any developer, short of educational bundles, to make their resources openly public? I see it's a common question on many forums. I won't speak for the Dev, but I get the impression he is not opposed to fan games as long as they don't infringe on his profit margin.

At this stage in the game I am not going to make the resources openly available. I may do so with a humble bundle at some stage, but for now I'd rather keep my resources lose to my chest. I am not opposed to Fan games though, even if you can get the sprites. Just don't profit from my work is all I ask.

I wonder how big Subworld is in that regard.

Really now? How 'big' exactly?

How big is the imagination? Just remember it's one world, with many worlds collided with it. So imagine the chaos over resources when the collapse happened. It's logical to assume Fictionals fought amongst themselves in the beginning just to survive the initial chaos and lack of resources. Subworld is fantasy world yes, but it is not free of it's own atrocities.

So there was a war following the collapse?
